EMERGE Summer Trip Experience (STE) is intentionally designed to unlock access to the nation’s most selective colleges and universities. Through immersive campus visits and guided strategy building, Scholars gain the knowledge, confidence, and tools to navigate the selective college application process, clarify their college fit, and strengthen their commitment to applying ambitiously. Grounded in community and shared purpose, STE is not just a college tour; it is a transformative experience that equips Scholars with the access code to opportunity.

This year, we are launching an application for the EMERGE Summer Trip Experience, and we want everyone to apply. The application allows us to design the best possible experience for everyone and make sure Scholars are placed on trips that align with their college goals.

You do not need to have everything figured out to apply. This is about curiosity, ambition, and being ready to explore what is possible for you. By applying, you are opening doors, gaining access to new campuses, and investing in yourself. The application is another step in helping you access opportunities, build your college strategy, and make the most of this experience.

Why Go On College Trips?

The Summer Trip Experience (STE) will serve as a major driver in achieving the overarching program goal of EMERGE Scholars applying and matriculating to the nation’s top colleges/universities. This experiential learning opportunity will broaden students’ view of college, provide insight into students’ personal interests, passions, and values, and serve as the real-world application of session learning (curriculum).

FAQs About STE

What if I do not want to attend a college trip?

The EMERGE Summer Trip Experience is a core part of how Scholars unlock access to selective colleges and universities. Scholars who choose not to attend should understand that they may miss out on critical exposure, strategy building, and community experiences that are central to EMERGE’s programming model. Campus visits provide real-time insight into college fit and help Scholars activate the access code needed to apply with confidence.

If you are unsure or hesitant, we strongly encourage you to connect with your EMERGE Program Manager to talk through your concerns. Our goal is to ensure every Scholar is making an informed decision and fully leveraging the opportunities designed to support their success.

How much do the college trips cost?

There is no cost to the student or family to participate in the college trip, as EMERGE covers the full cost of the experience. However, each trip costs EMERGE approximately $1,200 per Scholar. No shows or late withdrawals result in a significant loss of resources. To support commitment and responsible participation, Scholars are required to submit a $50 nonrefundable deposit, which will be returned to them in the form of spending money to use at a college campus bookstore during the trip.
