In 2019, EMERGE’s effectiveness was showcased by NBC News using the story of one student, Emily Ramirez, who at the time was a senior at Heights High School. EMERGE’s pivotal role in guiding high-achieving students like Emily through the college application process highlighted the nonprofit’s commitment to educational equity and access and demonstrated its impact on individual students’ aspirations and achievements. Emily is now a senior at Harvard University.
